Without worrying about being
“politically correct” what do you consider to be your favorite songs
or the best children’s folk songs?
And why.
Personally, I think "You Are
My Sunshine" is a keeper. I've
taught for 10 years, and I've seen how much it means to little kids. It's good for your heart. One that's not on the list yet, but my
next choice would be "I Love" (it continues "little baby ducks, old pick-up
trucks, slow moving trains, and rain").
I don't remember who it's by right now, but it does good things to the
hearts of kids and adults alike (it's the most commonly requested song in my
college course, as well as in elementary music). Next on the list is "Old MacDonald,"
"The Crawdad Song," and "I've Been Workin' On the Railroad." They're great songs, and they're lots of
fun! Everyone loves them and enjoys
singing them.
