VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) is provided for children who are 4 years-old by September 1st of the school year.

This program is offered as space is available at Suwannee Primary School and Branford Elementary School. A summer VPK program is provided at Suwannee Primary School.

PK School Readiness programs are provided for 3 & 4 year-olds based upon eligibility through the Early Learning Coalition of Florida's Gateway (ELC-FG). Parents participate by bringing children to preschool screenings in the Spring.

Preschool screenings are coordinated with FDLRS, Suwannee County Schools, and the Early Learning Coalition of Florida's Gateway.

Students are placed in preschool programs based upon eligibility & space available in our schools.

Suwannee County also serves our Migrant preschool children in our PK programs. Preschool children with disabilities (3 & 4 year-olds) who are eligible for placement are also served in our preschool programs.

Preschool children whose parents are working have the opportunity to participate in the extended-day program at Suwannee Primary School during the school year. A summer PK School Readiness program is provided at Suwannee Primary School.
